Autumn Gold Ginkgo (Ginkgo Biloba ‘Autumn Gold’)
A Distinct Deciduous Delight
- Hardiness Range: 3-6
- Height: 40 feet
- Spread: 25 feet
- Exposure: Full Sun
- Fall Color: Gold
Why We Love It:
The Autumn Gold Gingko has stunning pyramidal form and consistent golden fall color while not producing fruit. Its average texture blends into any landscape allowing for all to enjoy the bright colors it provides in the fall.
Know Before You Plant:
This is a relatively low maintenance tree, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. Deer don’t particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in winter to protect it in exposed locations.
Where it Thrives:
This tree should only be grown in full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist locations, and should do just fine under average home landscape conditions. It is able to handle environmental salt making it a good choice for Waukesha with all the salt we need in winter. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments.
