Why We Love It:
September Charm Anemone is smothered in stunning semi-double shell pink buttercup flowers with yellow eyes at the ends of the stems from late summer to late fall. Its lobed leaves remain dark green in color throughout the season. These windflowers are perfect for naturalizing, swaying gently in the wind and blooming at the end of the season.
Know Before You Plant:
The flowers are excellent for cutting. September Charm Anemone is a dense herbaceous perennial with an upright spreading habit of growth. This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and is best cleaned up in early spring before it resumes active growth for the season.
Where It Thrives:
September Charm Anemone is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor pots and containers. It is a good choice for attracting bees and butterflies to your yard, but is not particularly attractive to deer who tend to leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn’t be allowed to dry out. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in winter to protect it in exposed locations.
